The resident of Fall River has almost 28 years of experience at BankFive under his belt. That includes working in retail and servicing and technology. So obviously he’s seen a lot of what makes the bank “tick.”
Of course, that’s the serious side of business. He knows there’s a fun side, too, and he enjoys being part of it.
“I like when we have special food trucks during Employee Appreciation week. It’s fun to see which will visit and what special treats we will be offered” Greg says. There are a lot of celebrations at BankFive, Greg says one of his favorites was planning for BankFive’s 150th Anniversary. “And Jeans Days at the bank are great, too, not only because we get to “dress down,” but because we help raise money for important community causes.”
In fact, being active in the community is something close to Greg’s heart. And he’s glad that BankFive shares the same outlook.
“I couldn’t do what I do in the community without the Bank’s support,” he says. “Without their generosity I wouldn’t have the time to donate over a hundred hours a year to various causes.”
Some of those causes include being involved with the Fall River Salvation Army, Greater Fall River Community RE-Creation, Leadership Southcoast, and the Local Fall River Area Board of the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families. Greg also helps out with various food and clothes drives, and helps other local agencies provide Christmas gifts or warm coats and hats to Fall River residents. In honor of his selfless volunteerism, Greg received Bristol County Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 John S. Brayton Community Service Award.
On a more personal note, when he’s not at work or volunteering in the community, Greg enjoys spending time with family and teaching fitness classes through CD-REC.
